Discover a little more about Arsenal, Manchester United, and Man City target Marco Reus.

Marco Reus may only be 24 years old, but the Borussia Dortmund winger/striker/attacking midfield is already a full time German International which boasts a plethora of midfield talents and an integral part of last year’s Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund. With two incredible seasons under his belt, Reus has been the attracting major interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester United.

Here are a few things to learn about the German star.

1) It is no secret that Marco Reus’ has a release clause. The news has been circling around for the last couple of days, as Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzk confirmed his £29.4m release clause. But one main thing to know about that statement is, the time when the clause can be activated.

German football specialist Raphael Honigstein confirmed via his Twitter account that, Reus’ release clause will only be activated in 2015. So avoid getting your hopes high about the possibility of activating the release clause anytime soon. (Also have a close look at this report from Independent)

2) Arsenal have been targetting Reus since his Mönchengladbach days and back then former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann had called Arsene Wenger to look at the wonder kid and not to miss out on him. A report from Independent, back in 2011 says, Wenger contacted Monchengladbach coach Lucien Favre about the possibility of signing Reus.

3) Marco Reus was branded ‘Rolls Reus’ early in his career and did you know that he started his career at Dortmund as a scholar but moved to third division side Rot Weiss Ahlen and played in their second string team? However, Reus found his feet and moved to the first team before helping them to secure a promotion to the second division and subsequently moved to  Mönchengladbach the following season before finally moving to his boyhood club in the summer of 2012.
