3 Things We Learned From Arsenal’s Nerve Wrecking FA Cup Victory Against Hull City

So finally Arsenal’s trophy drought has ended. They have beaten Hull City at Wembley to lift the FA Cup and put the smiles back to the faces of the supporters. All the jibes that they have been getting from the rival fans have been answered and it has again been proved that there is still room for gentlemen in football. But the win did not come easy as at one point it was looking like Arsenal would again miss their chance after coming so close to silverware. Hull City went 2-0 up within the starting few minutes of the game and it required a late second half goal from Laurent Koscielny to bring back Arsenal into the game. The deal was sealed with just 5 minutes left in the Extra time from a Ramsey strike and Arsenal did what their fans have been waiting for. We take a look at three talking points from yesterday’s game.

Aaron Ramsey the next big thing

It now looks like a distant incident that Arsenal topped the league for the highest number of days this season and then slumped to secure the fourth position. But, looking back, it can be confidently said that the one man who can be credited with the result would be Aaron Ramsey. He started the season brilliantly, scoring goals at will, only to get injured at move to the sidelines at a very crucial stage. But he has again sparked since his return and showed more than ever what Arsenal missed. It was not only his brilliant finish that gave Arsenal the win, but also his all round play which inspired the whole team. It can now be said with utter confidence that Ramsey would go on to become one of the best in the business in a couple of years and maybe Real Madrid spent all the money on the wrong Welshman.

Wenger still the adored man

There was a perception around London that many supporters of the club wanted Arsene Wenger to part ways with the club after failing to deliver for a very long period of time. But the FA Cup win shows once again that the number would be a very small minority and Arsene Wenger still commands the same respect that he did at his peak. The post match celebration made it evident that he is still the most adored man in the Arsenal ranks and seldom do all the players make such a frenzy about a manager.

The new beginning

Last summer was supposed to be the new beginning after years of hardships and the money to go for a world class player. But the big signing Ozil did not click as expected and a situation of stalemate was reached. But now finally Arsenal have been given the much needed confidence boost and they can take home a lot of other things, apart from the trophy, from this match. With a couple of intelligent additions to the squad and an injury free season, they can challenge the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea and hope that the coming days would be even brighter.
