3 Things To Lookout For When Manchester United Take On West Bromwich Albion

Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on a Tony Pulis side which has kicked on and could be safe from the drop. United would be buoyed by the fact that Liverpool lost their midweek game and a win for Manchester United could ensure that they return to the UEFA Champions league at the expense of their rivals, Liverpool. United need to be wary of the threat posed by a Tony Pulis side and with United looking to finish their quest for the Champions League, here are three things to look out for in the battle at Old Trafford.

Rooney’s return to the squad

Rooney might have limped off last time around at Everton, but he will return to the squad after recovering from what looked to be a big injury. He might not start the game, but he could make a substitute’s appearance as United look to get back to winning ways. What was also telling was the fact that Manchester United did not score a goal in the last two games. While the Chelsea match could be seen as a blip, the loss against Everton was a shambles and did not do any favours for all the good work that Louis Van Gaal had done. The gaffer would ensure that United would be back to their ruthless best against West Brom.

An emotional return for Darren Fletcher

Darren Fletcher was allowed to join West Bromwich Albion earlier this season and it will be an emotional return for the Scottish midfielder, Fletcher enjoyed some great seasons when he was at United and was respected not only for his ability but for his versatility that he brought to the team. The 31-year-old might have lost a bit of his stamina and energy over the years but he still is a handy player and would be pivotal for West Brom’s chances of getting a point or more from this really tough tie against a brilliant United team at Old Trafford.

A 7th consecutive win for Manchester United at home?

The season might have started a little slow, but the fear factor has returned in the Premier League when teams face Manchester United at Old Trafford. Manchester United have only lost twice in the league this season at their home ground and have picked up 43 points, something of a fortress, which was missing last season. Manchester United have been wonderful in the second half of the season and a win over West Bromwich Albion could ensure that they can rest easy with just 3 games remaining in the season. The win against West Brom would mean a 7th consecutive win for the club at home and that would be some achievement.
