3 Things Chelsea Need To Do To Keep Their Premier League Crown Next Season

Chelsea reclaimed their Premier League crown after a span of 5 years, thanks to the hard work done by Jose Mourinho and his team of tough players. Chelsea fans will not care how they won the title and although people have claimed this Chelsea side as boring, there is no doubt that they were and are the best team in England and deserve the title.

Chelsea Fabregas Costa
Chelsea

Chelsea had played some exciting football at the start of the season but as the games went by and the chance of winning the title came closer, Chelsea went more into a shell and resembled the old Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, score a goal and defend for the 3 points, that was how Chelsea played in the last few games. The onus will now be on repeating the feat and defending the title next season and we look at 3 things Chelsea can do to keep the title with them.

Sign a striker

Diego Costa fits into the Chelsea team perfectly, he bullied and scored at will but has been hit by injury quite a lot this season. Mix that with Didier Drogba leaving the club and Loic Remy just about doing a certain job, Chelsea would be needing another striker who would provide Chelsea with another outlet for the goals.

Chelsea need to invest and get a striker who would work wonders for the team and knowing Jose he would already have someone in his mind.

Get a creative midfielder

The return of Cesc Fabregas might have been one of the talking points in the first half of the season with the Spaniard racking up the assists in the first half of the season. In the second half however it felt like he lost a bit of his spark and was even played in a more attacking role but that did not help Cesc regain his ability to rip defences apart.

Chelsea need to get another creative influence in the team, they already have Hazard and Cuadrado (who could be the X factor next season for the Blues) and could do with the help of another creative midfielder pulling the strings.

Play the same way

They might be called boring or drab, but this is a results oriented business and Chelsea have blown the competition out of the water this season. They should have won the title last season but Jose always stated that his team should be judged in the second season and they have been the best team overall in the Premier League.

Next season should see more of the same Chelsea, blistering in attack during the first half of the season and then consolidating their position in the second half of the season with more parking and less attacking displays. They should also target doing better in the Champions League and hopefully we could see a double from Chelsea which includes a European triumph as well.
