3 Super Speed Wingers Manchester United Should Look To Sign This Summer

After a disastrous season for the Red Devils, a wave of expectations culminated in new hopes emerges at Old Trafford as Manchester United seek a fresh beginning. As manager Louis Van Gaal is set to take over the managerial role after the World Cup, a wholesale changes are expected at old Trafford thanks to Van Gaal’s pragmatic and visionary approach. The 62 year old Dutch legend is known to be technically and tactically very flexible as his teams have ventured in the 4-3-3 setup and also an unorthodox 5-3-2 system now at full flow for Holland ahead of their World Cup preparations.

While the Red Devils are lined up with the likes of Valencia, Young, Nani and Januzaj out wide, they have been lacking something that left United’s wing play to look mediocre all season. Here are the three wingers that United should target in the coming summer transfer market and may be off load Young and Nani.

Pedro:

Rampant changes are expected at the Camp Nou outfit and the Catalan club are in the middle of testing the waters with a certain deviation in their tiki taka approach after new manager Luis Enrique taking over from the departing Tata Martino. One player who has been linked with a move away from the Catalan club is 26 year old Spaniard Pedro Rodriguez, who has found chances hard to come by with the arrival of Neymar at the club. The versatile winger can play on either flanks and also as a second striker, will have a plethora of potential suitors if he decides to leave Barcelona in the summer. With Nani virtually out of the club and questions over Ashley Young’s future, Pedro would ceaselessly fit in the Red Devils side, the player having scored 16 goals and grabbing 8 assists in 44 appearances.

While Pedro might have been a loyal servant of the Catalan club, the frequent additions of Alexis Sanchez and Neymar means that he will never be trusted as a first choice player. A move to United where Van Gaal can offer much more, could be tempting for the Spaniard.

Juan Cuadrado:

We have been hearing from the rumour mill that Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado is a highly sought after player in the summer with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United willing to battle it out for the winger. It is reported that Liverpool are leading the chase for Cuadrado with a £20m price tag on his name.

The 26 year old who can play either as a right winger striker or a wing back with his dazzling dribbling ability and raw speed would bring United a different creative talent other than their perpetual sideways passing as the foregone season has suggested. The player would also be a different creative outlet in the attack and his ability to shoot with venom is an added bonus. The Colombian scored 13 goals and grabbed 8 assists in 38 appearances for Vincenzo Montella’s side in the Serie A campaign.

Lucas Moura:

The highly sort out Brazilian, who joined PSG amidst high interests from Manchester United and several other Premier League clubs have been a bit part player in France, which has cost him the ticket to join his national team for the World Cup fiasco. Although, latest rumours suggest that Moura is not willing to leave the Parc De Princes, United should go all out for the super winger to secure his services.

Moura is a winger who plays in the right flank and possess dazzling dynamism on the ball and is more than capable of getting past defenders on his trail. The player who was omitted form Luiz Felipe Scholari’s side for the Selecao squad for the World Cup would desperately seek more time on the pitch  as he has just featured in 23 starts under Laurent Blanc scoring 5 goals and grabbing 12 assists to his credit.
