An Argentine Goal Poacher, An Energetic Speedster And More: 3 Striking Partners For Diego Costa At Chelsea Next Season

Antonio Conte is set to take over at Chelsea next season and that can only mean one thing at the club, new signings. Most of the players at the club have performed below expectations and there will be some major culling in the squad if Conte has his way.

There is one good thing about all this, Conte could bring in some players who can complement the others really well. There already has been talk about Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic making the moves from Roma, which would make the Chelsea midfield one of the best in the Premier League but goal scoring has been an issue with the side this season.

The strike force hasn’t been all that good and when Diego Costa was on a poor patch of form, there really was no one to take up the role. Conte knows this is a problem and here are three strikers who could partner Costa next season.

Gonzalo Higuain

Rumors are high that Gonzalo Higuain will move from Napoli in the summer for a massive fee of 42 million. The Argentine striker has been one of the best strikers in Italy and has the numbers to go with it also.

Higuain is someone who has great movement and an eye for goal. He is built well also, and could be a hit in the Premier League. Gonzalo has scored 87 times in 147 appearances for the Naples side in Italy and he does have a great scoring record during his time with Real Madrid as well. The striker might not be the fastest to complement Costa but the partnership could work really well in tandem.

Jamie Vardy

The 29-year-old has been one of the most energetic players in the Premier League this season and his running and energy could be the key for Chelsea next season. Costa can be the player who holds the ball up and unleashes the beast that is Vardy.

Jamie has shown that he can play with the best and has scored many important goals for Leicester. He might not be the youngest player in the Premier League or even the one with the greatest stats in his career, but he is on fire at the moment, but 22 goals in 36 games this season surely makes it a gamble worth taking.

Alexandre Lacazette

The French star has been one of the best players for Lyon over the years but things aren’t going all that great in the club. They might make it into the Champions League next season, but they have no chance of winning any titles with the dominance of PSG.

Chelsea would be a better place for the striker who has bagged 20 goals in 41 appearances but if he works with someone who has the strength and ability to create openings for him, he could actually score more. Lacazette is a true striker who is blessed with great movement and finishing and the French striker is only 24-years of age, more than enough time to get better and learn the English way of football.
