3 Reasons Why Premier League Clubs Should Watch Out For Arsenal This Season

Arsenal somehow managed to finish second last season, even when they seemed destined to finish third behind Spurs. Tottenham also managed to blow their chance of finishing as runners-up and the Gunners ensured they can enjoy being the top team from North London for another season.

Apart from that, there really wasn’t much to cheer for the London club last season as they fell short of winning the league, something they were expected to do as Leicester City were seen as underdogs and the club should have done better in the Champions League but yet again, they failed to show what they can do on the big stage.

Arsenal did sign a couple of players in this transfer window and the most important signing was that of Granit Xhaka who should add a lot of steel to their team. The Gunners could be the surprise package, well at least in terms of winning the league next season and here are three reasons why the other clubs should keep an eye out for Wenger’s boys.

The steel in midfield is finally here

People might underestimate the signing of Granit Xhaka from the Bundesliga but the Swiss star is exactly the kind of player Arsenal need. He is strong in midfield, likes to get into a tackle and is a leader on the pitch and even off it.

Arsenal have not had something or someone like that for years and even though they have a lot of creativity in their team, the fact that Xhaka would be the one who leads the team forward when the chips are down, could well be the reason why they actually end up doing well in this campaign.

Arsene could very well lead the charge for the title

With most clubs bringing in new managers again, it could be another chance for Arsene to get that Premier League title under his belt. Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, all have new managers who will have to work with new players and with multiple championships and the Olympics being held in the summer, those managers will have less time to work with the team.

Everyone knows what Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is about and if he can keep his team intact, without losing any big name players to other clubs, the Gunners could be in the perfect shape to win the league title since the side are the ones with the least amount of upheavals.

Fit players should be raring to go

While Arsenal had to deal with a number of players getting injured over the course of the last Premier League season, many of their stars actually weren’t in proper shape but still made it to the European championships, just like Jack Wilshere.

Sure Arsenal had the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin travel with their sides but the fact of the matter remains that a lot of the Gunners’ players will only be hitting top fitness at the start of this season and that could be one reason why they have a good start.

Wilshere, Coquelin and even Giroud (who is doing pretty well for France at the moment) all could have found their form at the right time this season and should be firing on all cylinders come August.
