3 Reasons Why Arsenal Should Splash £80 million And Get Back On The Title Race Next Season

Share

The hunt for the signature of Paul Pogba keeps on taking interesting turns, the Frenchman might be playing at Juventus right now and has stated that he is happy, but Juventus have always maintained that their players are for sale as long as the right price is provided. Rumours have been around that a price of around £80 million would have to be paid to get the signature of the midfielder and while there are a few clubs who could be spending that and a little bit more to guarantee his signature, it could be another Frenchman smiling at the end of the next transfer window.

Arsene Wenger might break the bank, and we say might, to sign the Juventus midfielder, Wenger does have the money to spend as he has done over the past 2 seasons to sign Mesut Ozil and then Alexis Sanchez. Signing Pogba would be an incredible coup for Arsenal and here are 3 reasons why signing this talented Frenchman might make them Premier League title contenders next season.

Pogba is the complete midfielder

Pogba is such a versatile player for his club Juventus that he is probably the only player who cannot be dropped from the team. He can shoot, he can pass, he can tackle, he can control the ball and he can defend, the only thing he probably can’t do is keep in goal but jokes aside, Pogba has been incredible since his time at Juventus.

Versatility is something Arsene loves in a player and Pogba provides bag loads of that, he can play just about anywhere in the Arsenal midfield and would certainly be starting more games than sitting on the bench.

The French connection

While people might slag the fact that you need people who speak the same language, there is nothing better than having a contingent of French players and speakers who can make Pogba feel at home. Aside from having players like Flamini, Giroud and Koscielny the club has the talisman that is Arsene Wenger who has a history of making players better over the years they spend at Arsenal.

While Pogba is touted to be one of the best players in the midfield role in the world, he still has time to get better and this is where Arsene Wenger can make a difference for the gifted French midfielder. Pogba is no slouch either and he will take decisions to help him become better and this partnership would certainly flourish more than people expect.

The steel in midfield

Arsenal have lacked a leader in midfield for quite a few years, in fact Francis Coquelin has been considered as the best defensive midfielder they have and he has just come from the youth team. Paul Pogba would not only provide Arsenal with a lot of strength and durability in midfield but he would also ensure that there is a sense of leadership in the midfield, something which has been missing from Arsenal for quite a few years.

Arsenal getting Pogba would be immense and he could be the final jigsaw in the puzzle that Arsenal fans would want to crack, of winning the Premier League.
