West Ham are preparing for another Premier League campaign and with the club looking to play in the Europa League once again, it could be another season where the Hammers punch way above their weight and achieve the impossible.
We all saw Leicester City do something that no one expected last season and the Hammers could well be on their way something similar. Slaven Bilic is one of the top managers in the Premier League and his first season at the London club was something special.
West Ham created a number of records under the Croatian and the one record they certainly want to break is their duck of the Premier League title. The Premier League is extremely competitive and here are three reasons as to why the Hammers could win the league title this time around.
Slaven Bilic leading the club
Slaven Bilic was absolutely brilliant for West Ham last season and the club could be in line for a number of new records this season.
The Croatian brought in a different brand of football and the fans at the new Olympic Stadium would be looking forward to another great season where the side beats the bigger sides once again. The Hammers had a pretty good time against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and even Manchester City and if they can keep that sort of performance going again this season, they could easily make it to the top of the league.
Bilic just has to ensure the side does not lose focus against the smaller clubs and also with the Europa League going on, the Hammers have to keep their focus on and the manager will make sure that nothing goes wrong this time around.
Dimitri Payet
We do not need to elucidate this point further but Dimitri Payet has stuck with the Hammers and seems ready to do more damage to the opposition. The French attacker was one of the best players in the Premier League last season and with a brilliant Euro 2016 under his belt, Payet could very well lead the team to the top of the table.
West Ham would need some of the other players to step up but the French star could very well link up with the likes of Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia could be the secret to the Hammers beating some of the other teams with some physical play and a lot of Dimitri Payet style.
The smart signings made
Sofiane Feghouli has to be one of those rather weird signings which no one picked up for some reason. The former Valencia star could be another Dimitri Payet in the making and even other signings such as Harvard Nordtveit and Gokhan Tore (on loan) could be brilliant for the side as well.
The money though is on Feghouli taking the club to another level and with Payet and Manuel Lanzini providing a lot of fire power to the attackers, there is no reason why the London club cannot hammer the opposition into submission.
West Ham winning the Premier League does have a greater chance of happening than many would have expected Leicester doing the unthinkable last season and if things do go right for the Premier League side. They could be lifting the title at the end of the season, at least a part of London hopes so.
