3 reasons why Spurs can beat Chelsea in FA Cup semi-final

Tottenham Can Beat Chelsea In The FA Cup And Here Are 3 Reasons Why

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur just do not look like they will give up their chase of the Premier League title. They have done well to put pressure on Chelsea so far, and they will be the biggest threat to Chelsea on their journey to FA Cup glory as well. Antonio Conte’s men qualified for the semi-finals of the FA Cup but were drawn against their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in this tie. Spurs will know that they can get the better of the Blues at Wembley and here are three reasons why they can beat Chelsea this weekend and knock them out of the FA Cup:

The Old Trafford hangover

The Blues will want to be at their best in this FA Cup game but they are still healing from a mauling at Old Trafford and it will take some time to get the loss out of their mind. It is just their 5th loss of the season, and it could not have come at a worse time. They are just 4 points off Tottenham in the points table and have to be at their best from now to the end of the season, to win silverware. However, the loss against the Red Devils will have its say at least for a few days and this can help Tottenham defeat an unsettled Chelsea team.

Last Time Out

Spurs are one of the few sides that have got the better of Chelsea this season. They put in a commanding performance, the last time these two teams met at White Hart Lane. Though not playing at home, the Lilywhites will believe that they can get the better of the league leaders and having already done so, there is every chance that previous results will be playing in the players’ minds. Chelsea will know the danger that this Spurs side possess in their armoury and they should be careful not to change their game plans even if Spurs dominate the game. Surely, the result in the last clash between the sides could help Spurs get one over Chelsea mentally, even before the game.

The Wembley nerves

It is not a surprise that Chelsea are favourites to win the semi-final and though some experts do give Spurs a chance, Antonio Conte’s side may have already started dreaming about lifting the Cup. However, when it comes to Wembley, it is never easy for a team to continue their form from previous games. In front of a packed crowd in the capital city, Chelsea will have to settle into the game quickly and take the initiative, else it could be a long day for them. Tottenham played their UCL games at this venue and will have slightly lesser nerves, and this could help them get an early advantage and knock Conte’s side out of the competition.
