3 Quality Zaha Alternatives Available For Tottenham To Sign In January

Tottenham Hotspur have not been able to find any consistency this season and are struggling to make it even into the top-4 places in the points table. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will not be too happy with the performances of his side in recent games and it is understandable that he wants to spend on a fresh face that can shake things up a little at Wembley.

The manager has been desperate for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and it looked like Spurs will be able to land him come January after Palace made a disastrous start to the campaign. However, the Eagles are back on track now having performed well in the last few games and reports now claim that Roy Hodgson’s side are ready to knock back any offers for the English winger.

This will be a huge blow for the London outfit but here are three alternatives Pochettino should immediately look at.

Lucas Moura (PSG)

The Brazilian winger is one of the most exciting players in his position in Europe but is struggling to get minutes under his belt in a new look PSG side this season. With the likes of Mbappe and Neymar hogging the flanks, Moura is expected to look for a new club in January and a few English clubs have already been linked with a move for him in January.

At just 25, he has immense potential, will not cost as much as the Crystal Palace man and might even be an upgrade on him, thanks to his European experience. He is definitely a man Pochettino should look to sign if they miss out on Zaha.

Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina)

The Italian youngster is slowly making a name for himself in Serie A and has 4 goals and 3 assists this season. Though Fiorentina are not willing to sell him anytime soon, repeated interest from Italian clubs like Juventus, Napoli and European clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and PSG, have seen the Serie A side slap a £53m price tag on his head. He may be a touch expensive but at just 20, he is only going to get better under Pochettino and is a risk worth taking.

Lucas Vazquez (Real Madrid)

The 26-year old Spanish winger only came into the limelight a couple of years ago, after Zinedine Zidane took over at the Bernabeu. He was expected to play a huge role at the club after the manager decided not to add to his attacking options in the January transfer window.

However, Vazquez has made just five league starts this season and is already in search of a new club to gain more game time. A player similar to Zaha, Vazquez is a decent option for Pochettino and like Moura, his experience at the European level will come in handy for Spurs.
