3 Possible Targets That Tottenham Hotspur Should Try To Sign On Deadline Day

As the deadline day of the 2015 summer transfer window approaches, many clubs across Europe are scampering to sign new players to bolster their squads before it’s too late. Tottenham so far have made five signings this summer, with their latest being a big-money deal for South Korea international forward Heung-Min Son from Bayer Leverkusen who followed the likes of Clinton N’Jie (£12m), Toby Alderweireld (£11.5m), Kevin Wimmer (£4.3m) and Kieran Trippier (£3.5m) to Tottenham but any Spurs faithful will tell you that they need one or two more signings if they are to break into the top four this season. The results so far haven’t been good for Spurs, which has just increased the need for new players to be brought in.

Saido Berahino

Harry Kane was the hero for Tottenham last season with 21 Premier League goals but it was always skeptical about whether he could repeat that feat in the following season. He is yet to open his account for the season, which has just made Spurs problems worse. Son and Clinton N’Jie have been added but they are really not the players who can contribute 20-25 goals every season.

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has emerged as Tottenham’s top target this summer but West Brom seem reluctant to sell their prized asset. Recently, Berahino unfollowed the official West Brom Twitter account, hinting he wanted a move away. Spurs have already made two bids for the striker but both of them have been rejected. Berahino was instrumental in saving West Brom from relegation last season and with 29 goals in 83 appearances in total for the Baggies he could add a real spark to the Spurs lineup.
