Vertonghen, with his imposing presence, passing ability and no nonsense defending can very much be in United’s scheme of things. Tottenham have always been a selling club and no wonder if Moyes splurges the cash, would the Belgian leave even if United fall to qualify for the Champions League? Perhaps only time will provide an apt answer.
