Three Players Who Could Leave Manchester United In The Summer

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has shown no reluctance in selling off the unsettled players in the market, with the Portuguese recently admitting that he is willing to let go of any player who is currently unhappy at the club.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, for example, got his wish fulfilled as the Armenian was involved in a deal with Arsenal regarding Alexis Sanchez. The former Dortmund playmaker is currently happy at Arsenal but that being said, there are a few other Manchester United players who would be eager to move elsewhere in the summer.

Here are three players who could leave Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the most household names in world football. The Swede, having left the club at the end of last campaign after being ruled out with a cruciate ligament injury, was brought back by coach Jose Morinho for another year.

However, the former Swedish international is recovering from yet another injury this season, having made only five appearances. At the age of 36, the £125,000-a-week Ibrahimovic is already attracting interest from Chinese clubs as well as MLS clubs.

His current contract with Manchester United expires at the end of this season but as per reports, the Swede could leave United even before the end of this campaign. Where he’ll be heading next season, however, will become one of the most talked about discussions in the summer.

Matteo Darmian

Arguably the most undermined United player at this point in time, Matteo Darmian is destined to leave Manchester United next season.

The Italian was one of Louis Van Gaal’s favourite players at the time when he made the move to Old Trafford back in 2015. However, the former Torino defender has transformed into a fringe player ever since Jose Mourinho took charge of Manchester United, having often been ignored by the Portuguese mastermind.

Darmian has only made four appearances this season, which is highly unsatisfactory for a player of his calibre. The 28-year-old was hugely linked with a move to Napoli this January but it could never materialise. However, a move this summer is very likely considering the fact that Manchester United are already looking for replacements in the market, with Tottenham’s Danny Rose being identified as a prime candidate.

Daley Blind

Another player struggling to get proper game time under Jose Mourinho, Daley Blind could be on his way out of Manchester United next summer.

The Dutchman, once highly revered by former coach Louis Van Gaal, has made only six Premier League appearances this season. His future with the club could really be in doubt next season, considering the fact that Jose Mourinho has preferred the likes of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and even Chris Smalling instead of the former Ajax defender.

Daley Blind was a part of the Netherlands National Team, which failed to qualify for the World Cups this year but United will have no shortage of possible suitors for the versatile defender, with Inter Milan already vying for the services of the 27-year-old.
