Three Players Who Are Likely To Leave Chelsea This Summer

Chelsea have an important few months coming up in terms of fixtures but more than anything else, the club will be looking to focus on rebuilding their squad.

As things stand, the Blues have not endured the best of seasons this term and after the recent 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, it has become highly unlikely for them to secure a qualification spot for the Champions League.

Bringing in new players will strengthen the team but it certainly won’t stop their current players from wanting to exit.

Over the last few months, the club have been through a variety of ups and downs and after a lacklustre campaign, it might not be far-fetched to suggest that the defending champions might have to prepare for an exodus of sorts this summer.

As per a recent report from ESPN, nine Chelsea stars are set for an exit from the club. With that in mind, here are 3 players who are most likely to leave at the end of this season.

Eden Hazard

Hazard continues to occupy a crucial spot in Chelsea’s blueprint for success but as per a report from Sky Sports, Real Madrid are quite keen on acquiring his signature. He is nippy, agile, creative and is arguably one of the best attackers in the Premier League.

The Belgian ace can occupy a position on either wing and can also play as the central striker. This season, he has been utilised as a left-winger, a secondary striker and even as a centre-forward. Hazard has excelled in every one of those roles.

Los Blancos have not had the best of seasons either and a move for Hazard could remarkably boost their forces up front. Furthermore, after spending almost 6 years with Chelsea, it might be time for Hazard to look for newer pastures.

Michy Batshuayi

Batshuayi has been one of Chelsea’s most underrated players. For a good majority of the previous season, he could not get adequate game time because of Diego Costa and this time, a similar thing has happened as well. Even when Morata failed to deliver, Antonio Conte sidelined Batshuayi and the player eventually left to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

What a time he has been having with the German giants ever since! He has been smashing some impressive goals and he seems a lot more confident as well. Thus, Batshuayi might be inclined to move away from Chelsea in order to secure more game time in the future.

David Luiz

Despite being an iconic figure at the club, the defender has seemingly been iced out of the squad by Conte. As per a report from The Metro, the duo fell out of favour after a disagreement following Chelsea’s loss to AS Roma and Luiz has hardly featured for the club since then.

On one hand, it has allowed Andreas Christensen to thrive but considering how talented Luiz is, this treatment is quite unfair.

Thus, the centre-back would be better off moving away from Chelsea to revive his career. He should join a club where there will be no shortage of regular game time.
