3 Players That Chelsea Will Have To Show The Door This Summer

With Rafa Benitez destined to part ways with the club, Chelsea will supposedly be joined by Jose Mourinho next season onwards. As per reports, the Special One has already shown interest in signing some players who can strengthen the current team further. But what Chelsea really need to do before adding any more members to their team is reduce the size of their squad by selling off a few. While it would not be an easy decision for Mourinho to offload a selected few from a very talented side, we take a look at three such players whose time at Chelsea should be over with the arrival of Mourinho.

Gary Cahill- There is not a single doubt that he is one of the most talented players around, but Mourinho will certainly prefer John Terry in the centre back ahead of Cahill. And it would be too optimistic even for Cahill himself to think that he would replace David Luiz in the team. Given the fact that Cahill has had a very average season with Chelsea this year, his gametime looks under serious threat. Considering all these it would be best for Cahill to seek greener pastures and Chelsea would also be able to gather some money from his transfer.

Does he deserve another season?

Fernando Torres– Chelsea have given him enough chance to prove himself and the Spaniard has only disappointed. When Mourinho arrives in Stamford Bridge he would definitely look to add some quality in their strike force, players in the league of Falcao and Cavani. This should be the ideal time for Torres to depart amicably and move back to his native land. The January recruit of Demba Ba has pushed Torres to the sidelines for a large part of the league and any new addition would wipe out any chances he had to make it to the first team, thus validating his transfer.

Marko Marin– The German international has been left out of the team for most part of the season and has made just 15 appearances this year. With Chelsea set to add more firepower in their frontline, Marin’s opportunities will be next to none in the following season. With CSKA Moscow interested in the midfielder, Marin should be looking for new shores and revitalise his career.
