Three Players Who Could Join Manchester United In The Summer

Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager will be looking to improve his squad next season. The Europa League still gives them a chance to qualify for the Champions League and the manager is already busy, trying to finalise deals for top transfer targets. With money hardly an issue, United would be ready to spend on some of the biggest names in Europe.

Champions League qualification will be important but the brand value might be enough for United to land most of their top transfer targets. Mourinho wants to improve almost every position in the squad and will be looking to get some stellar names to Old Trafford. Here are three players who Manchester United could in the upcoming transfer window:

Michael Keane (Burnley)

The English international left the club back in 2015 under Louis van Gaal, to join the Clarets, where he has cemented himself as the first choice under Sean Dyche. He was partnered with Ben Mee and the duo has established themselves as one of the best centre-back partnerships in the country. Keane has shown that he is capable of playing against the best of the attacks in the league and Mourinho seems convinced that he is the right man for his side. Reports today suggest that Manchester United have already completed a £25m deal for his signature, so he might make a move back to his boyhood club this summer.

Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City)

There is never an assurance of holding on to a player like David De Gea, as the other big clubs in Europe would surely be looking to sign him. The likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jan Oblak and Jordan Pickford have been linked with a move to Old Trafford but the son of United great Peter Schmeichel, Kasper Schmeichel, who helped Leicester City to the title a year ago, seems to be the perfect option to replace the Spaniard if he leaves. With nothing to look forward to in the next season at the King Power, Mourinho should not find it hard to lure him to Manchester.

James Rodriguez (Real Madrid)

The Real Madrid star has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich recently but Mourinho’s relationship with the Los Blancos might help him land the Colombian star. Though he is not a first-team regular, James stands as one of the most productive playmakers in La Liga and seems fed up with the lack of playing time at the Bernabeu. He is an expensive addition, but an exciting one and Manchester United could do everything they can to land him.
