3 Players Who Can Turn Tottenham Into Strong Title Challengers Next Season – Featuring 2 Real Madrid Superstars

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham have been one of the most consistent clubs since the start of the previous season but they have not been able to compete for the Premier League title or in Europe. The manager will be relatively happy with the progress of his squad this season but he would know that he will have to work on the squad to take them one step further.

They are currently 2nd in the points table, 10 points off Chelsea and have little chance of catching them. But the manager will hope that his side can come closer in the next campaign. Though they have a decent squad, Spurs need some additions to the squad to take them all the way and Pochettino might have to spend big to get such players to the club. Tottenham need a couple of stars who can walk into the first team next season to make them title contenders and here are three such players who can turn the Spurs into genuine contenders next season.

Isco (Real Madrid):

The Spanish midfielder has been frustrated with the lack of playing time at the Bernabeu and has constantly been linked with an exit in the summer transfer window. Recent reports suggest that Barcelona might beat Spurs to his signature but a peculiar condition might see the player favor a move to the White Hart Lane at the end of the campaign. He has 6 goals and 6 assists in all competitions this season. With most of his appearances coming from the bench, he would be looking for a club where he can get regular game time. Pochettino can use Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Isco as a part of the three men behind Harry Kane next season, which will make them a formidable attack; certainly one of the best in the country.

James Rodriguez (Real Madrid):

Another star who is unhappy with the Los Blancos is Colombian international James Rodriguez. The 25-year old burst into the scene with his performances in the 2014 World Cup but he has not been able to impress the current manager Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu and has been on the fringes of the first team. He has 5 goals and 12 assists in just 22 games this season, most of which came from the bench and this has seen him linked with an exit recently. Again, he can play as a part of three-man attacking midfield for Pochettino. James would turn into a world beater if given enough time to adjust to the English league. Surely, Rodriguez is a player who can add that extra bit that can take Spurs all the way next season.

Michail Antonio (West Ham United):

One of the most versatile players in the country at the moment, Michail Antonio has been the most effective player for Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United this season. Linked with an exit even in the summer, Antonio is wanted by a host of clubs in England and Tottenham are one such suitor. Capable of playing in a variety of roles, Antonio is a player who is a perfect player for Pochettino in every aspect. He adds strength to the attack, and his return of 9 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League only makes him an even brighter prospect. West Ham will not want to sell him but if Pochettino manages to lure him to the club, he can solve more than just one problem in the squad and help them take the next step.
