Forget Lukaku: Here Are 3 Alternatives For Chelsea If They Miss Out On The Belgian Star

Antonio Conte is well on his way to lifting the Premier League title in his first ever season in England and he might be planning for the next season already. Having built a 10 point lead already, Chelsea are sure to qualify for the Champions League next season and Conte would looking to add some star players to his squad to face the challenges next season. Out of the many stars that have been linked with a move to the Bridge, former Blues star Romelu Lukaku will surely be high on the list. In unstoppable goal scoring form at the moment, the Everton star is currently the top goal scorer in the domestic league and is one of the best finishers in Europe at the moment.

He has 19 goals to his name this season and will be a great addition to the squad at the Bridge but former title-winning manager Jose Mourinho is also offering Lukaku a role at the Old Trafford. Reports suggest that United may have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race for the signature of the 23-year old, thus leaving Chelsea empty handed. But here are three replacements who Antonio Conte could target if he misses out on Lukaku in the summer.

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid):

Though he has recently revealed that he is happy in Spain, the French international has extensively been linked with an exit in the summer with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all interested in his signature. If United spend on Lukaku, Chelsea could be front runners for his signature and what a signing he could be for the Blues. Conte might have to break the bank for him but standing as one of the most prolific goal scorers in the game at the moment, Griezmann could just take Chelsea to the next level next season.

Andrea Belotti (Torino):

Another star who is currently happy with his situation is Italian star, Andrea Belotti. Slowly growing on to become the first choice striker for the Italian national side, Belotti is one of the brightest youngsters in Europe and has inevitably been linked with a move to the Bridge. He has 24 goals and 4 assists in all competitions this season and is in the form of his life. Chelsea have been scouting him for some time now and though he has a release clause of €100m on is new contact, Chelsea should break the bank to get him to the Bridge this summer.

Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid):

The least expensive option on the list, Morata is probably a player Conte would want this summer. Frustrated with the lack of first team chances under Zinedine Zidane, Morata has been looking for an exit this summer and the Real Madrid manager is happy to offer Morata to Chelsea as a part of the deal of either Eden Hazard or Thibaut Courtois, both of who are wanted at the Bernabeu. However, Conte will not let either of them leave. Their financial power, backed by their ability to give regular football might be enough for Chelsea to land the star this summer.
