3 Perfect Replacements For Nemanja Matic At Chelsea Featuring This Premier League Winner

With Antonio Conte coming into the Chelsea team next season; most players will be petrified after seeing his antics on the side-lines in the game against Spain. Conte was like a rabid dog shouting out instructions and it almost felt like he was part of the game, even at one point kicking the ball in frustration.

Cesc Fabregas must be fretting about his position in the team but another player could be on the side-lines next season and that is Nemanja Matic. The Serbian might have been one of the best players during Jose Mourinho’s title winning season but the 27-year-old was in poor touch last season and Antonio Conte could be looking to replace the defensive midfielder.

With the Blues signing Michy Batshuayi recently, it does show that they have a lot of money to spend and to enforce the midfield they could be looking to bring in real quality in the heart of the Chelsea team and we look at three players who would be perfect replacements for Matic.

N’Golo Kante

The Frenchman might have had a quiet Euro 2016 so far but that was exactly his playing style at Leicester City last season as well. He doesn’t make a big name for himself but his interceptions and tackles are crucial to the side and that is exactly what Chelsea need at the moment.

He is a Conte kind of player and will give everything he has for the side. The 25-year-old was certainly one major reason why Leicester won the league title and he could be the answer to Chelsea’s flaccidness in midfield and fix that issue up next season for sure.

Steven N’Zonzi

The Sevilla player was always one of the toughest defenders during his time for Blackburn in the Premier League. Even though the 27-year-old left Stoke City to sign with the Andalusian club, he could make a return to the Premier League and under Antonio Conte, he would flourish.

The France U21 player, at one time, might not be the best going forward but he is rock solid at the back and he does have a lot of energy which would be a boon for Chelsea as they look for more dynamism in midfield. N’Zonzi would also be a bit of a cheaper option compared to the other players who are being linked with a move to the Blues.

Andre Gomes

The Portuguese star might not be flying high for the national side in Euro 2016 but one thing is a given, he is one of the players to keep an eye out for the future. The 22-year-old midfielder might not be the quickest but he does have a great record while playing for Valencia.

And with the La Liga club having issues regarding their future and even their finances, he could be one more player they want to cash in on. Gomes also has a lot of time on his hands to develop and grow and achieve his potential, which could happen under the crafty Italian manager next season.
