Three Non-Southampton Players Who Liverpool Can Target In The Summer

Liverpool have just not dealt with their transfers well enough this summer as they might lose two of their top transfer targets, even before the window is open. While negotiations for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah have been stalling for too long now, the whole Virgil van Dijk fiasco has only made things worse.

Just when it looked like it could not get any worse for Liverpool fans, The Times have reported that the Reds are looking for yet another Southampton player in Dusan Tadic, for a move this summer. After Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane – who have all come from Southampton, Liverpool have made some decent business with the Saints, but the Van Dijk saga might end all dealings between the two clubs at least for a while.

However, Liverpool still need to find players to improve the depth in the squad and here are three Premier League players, who are not from Southampton, who Klopp can target to add to his squad this summer.

Manuel Lanzini (West Ham United)

A player who Liverpool previously wanted, and one player who they will take back in a heartbeat, Lanzini is one of the best creative midfielders in England at the moment. He has been the best player for West Ham for more than a year now and will surely be frustrated by the lack of progress at the club. At 24, he is a potential star and could make Liverpool an insanely better team next season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

One player constantly linked with a move to Liverpool is Arsenal’s versatile star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. At 23, he is one of the most exciting players in England and a lack of game time has seen him stall on signing his new contract with his current club Arsenal. He is wanted by Jurgen Klopp, who is ready to splash the cash for his services this summer. His experience in the Premier League is sure to improve Liverpool next season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea)

One player who is not yet on the radar of the Anfield outfit is Swansea City’s assist king Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Iceland international was one of the best players in front of goal last season and played a huge role in keeping Swansea up in the top flight for another season. Though Swansea are adamant in not letting him go, he is already linked with a move to Everton and there is no reason why Liverpool should not look at the 27-year old this summer.
