3 Midfield Enforcers West Ham Should Look To Sign In January

After a less than impressive start to the Premier League campaign this season, West Ham United decided to part ways with their manager Slaven Bilic. They decided to hand over the club to former Everton man David Moyes, who now has a tough task at hand. He not only has to push the club up the points table but also make their season a meaningful one.

The manager has a decent squad to work with, in London, but needs a couple of additions in the January transfer window before he can seriously launch a charge up the table. The lack of a midfield enforcer has been quite evident in recent games and Moyes might look for one such player, who can help West Ham improve their quality. Here are three such players the club should look to sign in January:

William Carvalho (Sporting CP)

The Portuguese midfield beast has been on the radar of the London outfit for some time now but his parent club Sporting were reluctant to let him leave, at least until the start of the season. Reports now suggest that they are ready to part ways with him for the right price and the growing necessity of a CDM might just see the Hammers give in and place a bid in January. Moyes needs some fresh blood and the 25-year old could be the perfect man for his new club.

Christoph Kramer (Borussia Monchengladbach)

Though not an easy man to lure out of Germany, Kramer is one of the most effective midfielders in the Bundesliga currently and is a player who will walk into the first-team at the London Stadium. A versatile, gifted player, who can shield his backline and also help in attack, could add a different dimension to West Ham’s midfield, that has been missing to date. The former Leverkusen man is a serious part of the plans at his current club but playing in England along with financial incentives might help West Ham in landing him, thus improving their quality immediately.

Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

The Belgian ace is one of the most versatile players in the Premier League at the moment and though Jose Mourinho has constantly revealed that he has an important role in his squad, has been linked with a January exit. Though not a midfield enforcer as such, Fellaini, who currently earns £80,000 a week, has been effective in this role at Old Trafford and reports suggest that the Hammers are now the favourites to sign him come January.

He has decided to reject a new deal with the Red Devils and moving to West Ham might see him turn into an important player in the squad. He would get a chance to reunite with his former mentor David Moyes, who is responsible for the stardom in his career.
