3 Man United players Solskjaer must offload in January
At a time when Ole Gunnar Solsjaer needs to buy players in the winter transfer window, there are still a few stars in Manchester United who seem to be done with their time at Old Trafford.
With Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez offloaded to Inter Milan during the summer transfer window, let’s have a look at the three players Solskjaer should consider selling in the next transfer window.
Marcos Rojo
According to Metro, Marcos Rojo was left frustrated when United didn’t let him exit during the deadline of the summer transfer window. Rojo has made just two league appearances this season, including a start against Liverpool.
He got the opportunity to start the all-important clash after youngster Axel Tuanzebe suffered an injury during the warm-ups. Rojo has also failed to maintain his discipline and has received a yellow card already.
Rojo has also made 2 appearances in the Europa League and one in the League Cup. He has certainly fallen behind Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and the injured Eric Bailly in the pecking order. He made just five Premier League appearances last season, failing to keep a clean sheet and conceding five goals in those games.
Rojo joined United after his brilliant performance with Argentina at the 2014 FIFA World Cup but has failed to perform at that level. He has scored just one goal in his 75 league appearances for the Red Devils.
Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba is another player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should consider selling. According to Mirror, Pogba met with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane during the international break amid his transfer rumours.
Pogba was heavily linked to join the La Liga giants but the heavy price demanded by United kept him at Old Trafford.
The midfielder, who joined for £89m has played just five league games this season and provided two assists, that too in United’s Premier League opener.
Juan Mata
According to Bleacher Report, Valencia were keen to sign Juan Mata as a free agent before the season began. However, Mata signed a contract extension with the Red Devils to stay at Old Trafford.
Mata has made seven league appearances this season, including four starts. But his performances on the pitch has clearly shown that he lacks the stamina to match Premier League standards.
