3 Liverpool Youngsters Who Are Ready For First Team Action This Season And Klopp Should Consider Them

Jurgen Klopp arrival last year has suddenly brought that energy back at Anfield, which seemed to be missing in the final few months of Brendan Rodgers tenure. Klopp took his team to two cup finals last season and although they couldn’t cross the last hurdle, the path to the final in itself was reason enough to be optimistic. The German has been very active this summer transfer window, bringing a host of players including Sadio Mane and Wijnaldum. The preseason has been fairly positive as well, with only 1 defeat in 6 friendlies. Liverpool begun their campaign on 14th August against Arsenal at the Emirates.

In the midst of all this transfer mayhem, one must not forget the youngsters playing in the academies. Jurgen Klopp has put his faith in youth players from the academy such as left-back Brad Smith and centre-midfielder, Cameron Brannagan in the past. It will be crucial that Klopp uses the homegrown players along with his new superstar arrivals. With a full preseason under his belt and a bunch of talented players to choose from, one expects big things from Klopp next season. Here are the 3 youngsters who we feel will break into the starting XI next season.

Cameron Brannagan

Brannagan made 3 first team appearances last season, though that is not enough to judge his qualities, we still got see what kind of threat he can pose to the oppositions. With technique and skills reminiscent of some Anfield greats, his future looks bright at Liverpool under the German boss. The 20-year-old is a versatile midfielder, who provides a box-to-box option. He is also capable of playing as a full-back something we saw last season. His versatility and energy are enhanced by his excellent ball control. He has all the potential to succeed at the highest level, just requires proper guidance from Klopp.

Pedro Chirivella

Similar to Brannagan, Chirivella made a few first team appearances for the first team last season and will be working hard this summer to cement his place in the squad next season. It might be difficult to break into the first XI given the presence of Emre Can and Jordan Henderson. The Spanish midfielder has often been compared to Busquets, in that he can win the ball and hold it up with equal ability. Chirivella has recently signed a contract extension that ties him to Anfield till 2020. Klopp obviously sees lots of potential in the teenager and therefore didn’t hesitate to offer him a new contract.

Kevin Stewart

Stewart joined Liverpool in 2014 from Tottenham on a free transfer. Last season the English lad made a total of 7 first team appearances along with a loan spell. The defensive midfielder goes about his business very quietly. He is hardly ever in the limelight but his positional sense and movement is excellent. The youngster signed a contract extension in January which will keep him at Liverpool till 2020.
