3 January Transfers That Chelsea, Arsenal & Other EPL Clubs Should Avoid

January is coming close and we know there would be surprises in the winter transfer window when the clubs try to strengthen their teams for the second half of the campaign. It’s always risky buying players in January as they haven’t got used to the tactics of the team and the players take time to settle down. But some transfers are also perfect for the scenario, like Matic for Chelsea last season. Here are three transfers that shouldn’t happen in January.

  1. Fabian Delph to Liverpool.

It is believed that Delph is keeping his options open for a January move away from Aston Villa. There are rumours floating that Liverpool are interested in signing the new English international in a cut price deal, as his contract expires in the summer.

Delph is a good player but he’s far from being world class. Plus, Liverpool have a good central midfield and require one genuine goalscorer to add quality in the forwards department. It would be better if the Reds focus on getting a quality forward to help out Sturridge, Balotelli and others rather than calling dibs on average English players they don’t really need.
