Liverpool have signed 4 players so far this summer and are expected to make a few more signings before the transfer window closes. The club has been linked with many players, some highly improbable while some quite in the radar. Liverpool have also been linked with Pepe Reina, a former Red. 1.) Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane was once a Liverpool target during Brendan Rodgers’ era and has been linked with a move to Liverpool during the today itself. Liverpool had rejected Sadio Mane and the Senegalese winger joined Southampton. The prolific winger has scored 27 goals in 61 appearances for the Saints since joining. Mane was excellent for Southampton last season and performed extremely well against Liverpool in both the fixtures. Theo Walcott has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool throughout his career. Walcott did not get proper game time at Arsenal last season and reports suggest that he is quite frustrated due to it. Walcott is extremely quick and makes very efficient runs down the wings. Walcott is a threat when it comes to counter attacks. His pace and ability to play short passes make him very potent at counter attacks. His dribbling skill is also beyond doubt. His style of play will help him adjust to Klopp’s tactics. Reports suggest that Walcott is unhappy at Arsenal and wants to leave the club. 3.) Thomas Vermaelen
Former Arsenal player and captain, Thomas Vermaelen has been again linked with a move to Anfield. Thomas Vermaelen had an injury ravaged first season at Barcelona, managing just one appearance for the Spanish giants in the 2014-15 season. The fit-again defender did manage 20 appearances for Barcelona last season, but considering his experience, they were pretty less. Liverpool have Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip as their first choice defenders and with Kolo Toure’s and Skrtel’s future uncertain, Vermaelen could play Toure’s role as an experienced backup.
