3 Cut Price And Wenger Like Signings That Arsenal Could Pull Off On The Deadline Day

Arsene Wenger might not be willing to spend the big buck,s but he has to cover the inefficiencies in the defence. Rob Holding and Calum Chambers are not good enough at the moment and with the likes of Per Mertesacker and Gabriel injured, Arsenal need reinforcements more than ever.

The Premier League side are known for not spending money, but they really need to bring someone into the club. While they can still do without a big name signing, the need for cover is extremely important.

The transfer window is going to close in a few days and here are three cut price players that Arsene could bring to the club by the end of the window.

Jonny Evans

Tony Pulis seems resigned to losing Jonny Evans as the former Manchester United star, surprisingly has been linked with a move to Arsenal. The 28-year-old could still turn out to be a great signing for the side as he would not cost more than £10 million, which would be a bargain for the manager.

The Norther Irishman had a pretty good Euro 2016 campaign as well for the national side and with a decent season under Pulis, he could be the answer to all the problems that the Gunners faced in their first game of the season against Liverpool.

Jose Fonte

 Jose Fonte

Another surprising player being linked with the Gunners is the £8 million rated Portuguese player. The Southampton star has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and while he might not be the youngest player in the world, his experience of playing in the Premier League would certainly help Arsenal a long way.

The 32-year-old’s experience would certainly be useful for Arsenal and even though he would not be the number one defender in the side, Fonte would certainly be a great cover for the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel. Fonte would also give a lot of competition to Per Mertesacker for one of the places on the bench, should it come to that.

Simon Kjaer

This might be the signing that Arsenal could do without troubling their bankers, Kjaer has been linked with a move to the Premier League since his Wolfsburg days but now plays in Turkey with Fenerbahce. The 27-year-old is a little erratic but the Danish star does have a good game in him once in a while.

Kjaer did have a couple of great seasons with Lille but he has been on a slide ever since and he would be really inexpensive compared to some of the other big named defenders that the Gunners are being linked to. However, he still is a big risk to solve that hole in the heart of the defence for the London side.

Arsene Wenger does not have a lot of time, but he does need to bring someone in and we would not be surprised if any one of these three players does move to the Emirates.
