3 Big Name Who Could Join Liverpool Despite Of No European Football

Jurgen Klopp has brought a sense of optimism and a lot of faith to Anfield along with him. He led Liverpool into the two cup finals, with the same players Brendan Rodgers had. This summer, Klopp has already made a few personnel changes and is rebuilding Liverpool. Liverpool fans want the club to become title challengers and for that, Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in a few big names. Liverpool failed to qualify for any European competition next season and that has hurt the club badly and many big players might refuse to join the club as there will be no European night at the Anfield. Yet, there are some big names that might join Liverpool knowing the fact that they will not have European football. Here are 3 such players:

The Argentine has stated that he wants to join Liverpool this summer. Higuain had a terrific season at Napoli, scoring 36 goals in 35 games. History says that Higuain gives more priority to development rather than European football. Higuain could have left Napoli at the end of the 2014-15 season after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League as he had many offers from the club, especially from Arsenal, but the Argentine decided to stay at Naples and helped the side to qualify for Europe. For any player with quality as good as his, European football is a must every season, but it is not the case with Higuain. Although Napoli will be in the Champions League’s group stage next season, Higuain has stated that he wants to join Liverpool where he will not even get European football. The reason for this desire is the Klopp’s effect and Jurgen Klopp should pounce on this opportunity as quickly as possible.

The Arsenal winger had a very frustrating season due to very little game time. Walcott has got the quality, but due to better options, Arsene Wenger did not give Walcott enough game time. Walcott’s development has stalled and due to the poor performances, he was also not named in England’s 23-man squad for the EURO 2016. Walcott is desperate for some proper game time and Liverpool could be a good opportunity for him. Liverpool are looking for a winger and Walcott is surely a good option. Walcott will not give the European football importance as he is hardly getting League football. So, Walcott will possibly have no issues in joining Liverpool if club makes an offer.

Thomas Vermaelen, former Arsenal player and captain, joined Barcelona at the beginning of the 2014-15 season. But since then, he has been plagued with injuries and has hardly had a proper game time. Injuries have made it tough for Vermaelen to make it to Barcelona’s first team.  Vermaelen is an experienced centre back and with Kolo Toure’s exit, he might be a perfect replacement. Vermaelen will not give European football importance; the reason is same as Walcott’s and that’s why, Liverpool can be a good option for him.
