3 Attributes That Tottenham Fans Can Expect To See From Lucas Moura

Lucas Moura is close to finalising a £22m move to Tottenham Hotspur and could be a Lilywhite at the end of the week. Arsenal too were in the race, but the PSG winger snubbed their offer to reportedly join their neighbours.

His time at the Paris-based club always had to come to an end after they added stars such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. The Brazilian has struggled for playing time and made six appearances this season, all off the bench and is yet to feature in the Champions League, which means it’s a boost for Spurs as he isn’t cup-tied. The forward did have a great time in France as he also picked up four league titles with the French giants.

More On The Player

Moura started his football career in 2005 with Sao Paulo’s youth side. After having trained with the youth and development squad for five years, he got a chance in the senior team.

He netted 33 goals in 128 appearances for the Brazilian club before moving to PSG. For them, he has 45 goals in 228 appearances in the course of six seasons. The destructive winger has earned 36 caps for his nation and scored four goals for them.

What Can The Club Expect From Him?

Pace and precision

That’s the first attribute that would come to any pundit’s mind with respect to Lucas. He is quick, pacy and sharp as a knife. Whenever on the ball, there is some sort of assurance around with his teammates or the fans.

Lucas’ sharpness includes his ability to keep the ball, turn around effortlessly, tease the defenders and passing accurately. His pass completion has always been a bonus for his side. The Brazilian is also very quick on the counter or when it comes to running in behind and bringing playmakers (like Eriksen) into action.

Dribbling

Apart from just crossing or bringing the strikers into play, any winger would love to have world-class dribbling ability. Lucas Moura is an excellent dribbler who boasts a fine take on success rate.

He can outpace any defender, put the ball on the sides and run and use some top class trickery to embarrass their liking. The biggest assets of his dribbling include his acceleration and change of pace, with a lot of agility on a football pitch.

Versatility

The 25-year-old can play in various positions. He can occupy the number 10 position, just behind the striker and also play as a forward. He can also play on either flank and provide width to the side. If needed, Lucas can dictate proceedings in a deeper role too.

Elsewhere, he has already won a number of trophies in his career and his best years are ahead of him. For someone who is just 25, he has tons of experience, which will be key when he represents the north London club.
