24 Goals In 23 Games: Can Signing This Super Speedster Transform Arsenal Into European Contenders?

Then there have been rumours about the future of some managers at the clubs but one rumour which could actually be true is that of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang moving away from Borussia Dortmund. The Gabon international striker has been in sensational form this season having bagged 24 goals in just 23 games and the 26-year-old is one of the targets for many Premier League clubs.

England calling for Aubameyang

Liverpool have been one of the clubs linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund star due to the links of current manager Jurgen Klopp with Dortmund and the club do need a striker that can play in the Klopp way with Benteke looking out of sorts and Daniel Sturridge always injured.

Another club that has been linked with the striker is Arsenal, the Gunners seem to be ready to make a £42 million bid for the 26=year-old according to a few media reports and that would certainly make Arsenal one of the most lethal teams in terms of attack in England.

A pairing of Olivier Giroud and Aubameyang would work wonders for the Gunners, especially with the pace and movement of the Gabonese forward with the fox-in-the-box predatory skills of Giroud but even if Arsenal do not go with the two-striker approach, Aubameyang would make a great lone striker for Arsenal.

Pace and finishing up front

A front three of Sanchez, Aubameyang and Walcott would strike fear into any defence in the league but the ability of Ozil this season could be the key for Arsenal doing well in Europe as well. Arsenal have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the knockout round way too easily in the past few seasons but a front three or four wouldn’t be the only thing needed for them to do well.

But having a set of players like the four mentioned above could well be the best partnership in England if not Europe. Inevitable comparisons would take place between Barcelona’s trident of Suarez-Messi-Neymar and the goal scoring madness of Bale-Benzema-Ronaldo but Arsenal would have a different take on the goal scoring.

Aubameyang would lead the line as expected and the passing ability of Ozil could unlock defences with the movement of the Gabonese forward. Having Sanchez and Walcott floating around the striker could lead to more chances being created and the stretching of defences could give Ozil and Aubameyang more space to work with.

Signing Aubameyang would be a tough ask for any team, he is one of the hottest strikers in Europe and bringing him from Dortmund would take a lot of money and the possibility of winning a few trophies as well.

Arsenal though have a great chance of lifting the Premier League crown and if they can guarantee that to Pierre, or at least show that they can be front runners not only for the Premier League but also for the Champions League, a big money move wouldn’t be out of place for the Gunners. Especially with their record of paying big money for players that they think can make the team better.
