22 goals, 42 games – Norwich signing this hotshot Championship star would make their attack force a fearsome one

Norwich City opinion: Canaries should sign Che Adams

English news outlet the Sun has reported that Norwich City have entered the race for Championship star Che Adams. Currently contracted to Birmingham City, Adams is having the season of his life with 22 goals in 42 appearances.

He sits behind Teemu Pukki, Tammy Abraham and Billy Sharp in the race for the golden boot. It shows just how talented he is and why the move would make perfect sense for both parties.

For Adams, it gives him an opportunity to test himself at a higher level if Norwich City do get promoted at the end of the season, which looks like a formality at the moment. The Canaries have a five-point lead over second place Leeds United with just 6 games left in the season.

It looks like they’ll hold their lead for the remainder of the season, but the English Premier League is another animal altogether. Teemu Pukki will need someone to back him up and Norwich City’s alternatives have not done that well.

Jordan Rhodes and Dennis Srbeny are struggling to make an impact. The latter has been used mainly as a super-sub to zero effect, scoring just the one goal and Rhodes is out on loan.

It shows exactly where Che Adams will fit into the team and why a move makes a lot of sense. The young striker is tough and tenacious on the field but also oozes a clinical nature that the club really needs.

That combined with his work-ethic and an ability to step up in key moments will be key, as witnessed in his performance against QPR in a 4-3 win, where he scored a hattrick.

He singlehandedly lifted the team to the finish line. At the age of 22, Adams would be a long-term option for the Canaries and a reliable alternative to Teemu Pukki.

Conclusion

Norwich City’s top scorer this season is Teemu Pukki and if all goes according to plan, the 29-year-old could find himself doing well in the Premier League next season. The former Schalke man is untested in a bigger league though.

This could pose a few problems for Norwich but not if they add Che Adams, as he would provide cover and back-up for Pukki when needed.
