Andrew Robertson is undoubtedly one of Liverpool‘s best players right now. The pacy left-back can single-handedly wreak havoc against some of the biggest teams in the continent right now. Prior to his dominance, Alberto Moreno was Liverpool’s first-choice left-back and for some reason, he never delivered consistent performances.
In fact, after a slew of disappointing displays, Jurgen Klopp started deploying Robertson in his place. And the 24-year-old has certainly worked wonders since then.
Adept at attacking and defending with equal gusto, Robertson is the epitome of a modern-day full-back. And as per a report by The Mirror, Liverpool are set to offer him a new long-term contract as a reward for his brilliant contributions.
The Reds spent a grand fee of £10million to acquire his services from Hull City last summer but what an investment he has proven to be!
The report further states that the new contract will also see Robertson doubling his wages at Anfield. The new deal could see the defender earn above £60,000-a-week. What makes him truly stand apart from his contemporaries is his ability to track back and defend effortlessly.
In an attacking frenzy, full-backs often fail to cover their line but with Robertson, that is simply not the case. Blessed with a never-ending stamina, one can find the left-back at the other end of the pitch in a flash.
Although he is yet to spark interest from other clubs, Liverpool are doing the right thing by tying him down to a new contract. It would not only serve as a warning to potential suitors but it will also act as an encouraging sign for Robertson, who has a long way to go in his career.
As per Squawka, the player created a whopping 22 chances in 24 Premier League appearances last season.

Furthermore, in Liverpool’s season-opener against West Ham United, Anderson registered an assist, two tackles and one interception. In addition, he also recorded a pass success-rate of 88.6%. These numbers are a great evidence of his importance and Liverpool must tie him down to a long-term deal as soon as possible.
