2 replacements for Lloris who Tottenham could target including Real Madrid star

Two Ideal replacements for Hugo Lloris who Tottenham can target

Tottenham Hotspur have made considerable progress under Mauricio Pochettino but the club have failed to win a trophy under the Argentine. The former Southampton manager has elevated Spurs from the ashes, getting the team to play some of their best football over the years.

A number of players have flourished under his guidance. The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Hugo Lloris, all hit top form under the Argentine coach.

Hugo Lloris claimed the World Cup in Russia with France this summer, putting together a string of impressive performances for Les Blues. Lloris was in sensational form for the French as they marched their way to the title.

The goalkeeper’s impressive performances for both club and country have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid linked with a move for the player. New manager Julen Lopetegui is reportedly interested in prizing away the French star from the White Hart Lane. The Champions League winners are reportedly plotting a £60million raid to lure Lloris to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hugo Lloris

Lloris is one of the most experienced goalkeepers in the Premier League. He has made a total of 206 appearances for the Lilywhites, keeping 74 clean sheets and mustering a whopping 513 saves. His departure will surely be a huge loss for Tottenham as they move to their new stadium this season.

Here we take a look at two replacements Mauricio Pochettino could target in place of the French star.

Keylor Navas (Real Madrid)

Despite Madrid aiming to replace their goalkeeper, Navas has proven to be one of the best shot-stoppers in Europe. It’s not easy to win the Champions League three years in a row with a below-par goalkeeper. He has made a total of 94 appearances for the Spanish outfit since his arrival in 2014.

Current Real Madrid Goalkeeper Keylor Navas

Navas has come to Real’s rescue a number of times. He is a brilliant shot-stopper with excellent reflex ability.

The Costa Rican averaged 2.64 saves in the La Liga last season. Why Real Madrid are so keen on replacing him is still a question but Mauricio Pochettino could play this to his advantage. The Argentine could try and negotiate a swap move involving Lloris and Navas.

Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid)

One of the most underrated players in the game. Jan Oblak is surely one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. He’s got cat-like reflexes and possesses excellent shot-stopping qualities. The Slovenian is often under the radar but his performances are phenomenal.
