2 Replacements Burnley Should Consider Signing As Manchester United And Their Rivals Look Keen To Sign Michael Keane

Burnley Can Turn To These Players To Replace Michael Keane If He Leaves

Michael Keane has suddenly become the hottest property in the Premier League. The former Manchester United man has been brilliant this season for the league’s surprise package Burnley and as a resulted has attracted many potential suitors in the league, with Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and former club Manchester United all interested in the Englishman.

Burnley have had a decent season, performing well beyond their expectations in their return to the Premier League. The Clarets find themselves at 13th in the league standings and look set to finish comfortably above the relegation zone.

Keane has been at the centre of their success this season. The 24-year old hasn’t missed a single game for Burnley this season, starting all of their 29 league encounters and has also chipped in with 2 goals and an assist. Alongside Ben Mee, he has forged an excellent partnership and has added steel at the back for the Clarets.

But if the big boys come calling, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Keane opt to move away from the Turf Moor to bigger and better things. If it so happens that the Englishman decides to leave, here are 2 replacements Burnley can target in the summer:

Harry Maguire

The Hull City centre-half, just like Keane, is in high demand following some impressive displays for the Tigers in recent weeks.

Maguire wasn’t even a first-team regular until an injury forced Curtis Davies out of the team earlier in January, and Maguire grabbed his opportunities with both hands. The 23-year old has emerged as a leader at the back and has shown great potential. Strong in the air, a tenacious tackler, Maguire is also equally comfortable with the ball at his feet and can distribute well from deep too.

The Englishman has all the ingredients to be a top class defender and could prove to be the ideal replacement for Keane if he opts to move. If Hull get relegated, a move could definitely be on the cards.

Ryan Bennett

The Norwich City defender is out of contract at the end of the season and the Canaries have shown no signs of offering Bennett a new deal as of yet.

It is a little confounding to be honest, as Bennett has been a defensive mainstay for Norwich this season and has been one of their most consistent performers. The 27-year old has made 26 Championship appearances this term and has put in largely solid and steady performances at the back.

Considering that he might be available for free, a lot of Championship sides will be targeting a move for the Englishman. But a return to the Premier League could tempt him to join Burnley and the fact that he will come in for nothing, and with an affordable wage demand will have a bearing on the minds of the Clarets.
