Two Players Who Could Leave West Ham United In The Summer

West Ham United have always been a busy team in the transfer market, especially in the past couple of years. The Hammers have made a plethora of signings over these past few years, some of which have raised quite a lot of eyebrows too.

And this summer will be no different either, despite the change of managers. The London giants haven’t really played to their potential this season and head coach David Moyes will be looking for some major reshuffling in the upcoming transfer window.

In this article, we will talk about two players who are destined to leave the club this summer.

Patrice Evra

Although very obvious, Patrice Evra’s return to the Premier League will not be as smooth as one would have hoped for. The Frenchman, more or less, distinguished his career after leaving Manchester United.

Following spells at Juventus and Marseille respectively, Evra made the decision to return to the Premier League by joining West Ham United. However, the former Manchester United star will not play a massive for the club in the coming years.

At 36 years of age, Patrice Evra is way past his prime as a footballer, meaning we could soon see the Frenchman moving to the MLS or the Chinese Super League in nigh future.

Furthermore, the presence of Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell will definitely eliminate his playing time. Evra’s signed a six-month contract with the club, meaning his current contract with West Ham will expire at the end of the season, where he’ll probably have to settle for a new club.

Andy Carroll

The future of Andy Carroll at West Ham was in severe doubt when the striker was hugely linked with a move to Chelsea earlier this year. The Blues wanted the 29-year-old, as a back-up for their star striker – Alvaro Morata.

Though, that move couldn’t materialize, forcing Chelsea to settle for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud. However, that didn’t stop the newspapers from gossiping about his long-term future at the club.

Since the arrival of Javier Hernandez last summer, Andy Carroll’s importance in West Ham’s attacking department has taken a significant hit while frequent injuries didn’t help his cause either. The former Liverpool striker has managed only 697 minutes of Premier League football this season.

Considering the fact that West Ham United have already signed Jonathan Hugill from Preston, Andy Carroll’s future with the club is in serious doubt and the Hammers will surely have no hesitation of selling their star forward in the summer, should a presentable offer comes along the way.
