2 players who could leave Brighton in the summer including this 28-year-old with 11 goals in 31 games last season

Two Players Who Could Leave Brighton In The Summer

After their promotion at the start of this campaign, Brighton and Hove Albion have raised quite a lot of eyebrows this season. Following a tough start, the Seagulls have steadily maintained their mid-table status in the Premier League.

Currently sitting 14th in the league table, Chris Hughton’s are doing fairly well so far, with 28 points on the board. That being said, however, the Seagulls are leading fellow promoted club, Huddersfield, who are currently dawdling at 17th, by just one point and could run the risk of getting dragged into the relegation scrap should they fail to win their upcoming games.

Therefore, head coach Chris Hughton will be looking to reshuffle his squad this summer, regardless of their performance this season. While most of their current crop of players have somehow impressed, some of them have failed to live up to the billing.

In this article, we will talk about two Brighton players who could be departing the club this summer.

Liam Rosenoir

Liam Rosenoir has been completely out of favour at Brighton this season, often finding himself on the sidelines despite being fully fit.

Since his move to Brighton in the summer of 2015, the former Hull defender quickly made an impact at the Amex Stadium. Featuring in 31 games in his first season with the club and helping them finish on a respectable third position in the Championships. However, since then, things haven’t gone the way he had hoped with just ten appearances in the following season.

This season, however, the veteran defender has been constantly overlooked by coach Chris Hughton, largely thanks to the impressive breakout of Ezequiel Schelotto while the presence of club captain Bruno hasn’t helped either. Rosenoir has made only three Premier League appearances this season.

In addition, his current contract with the club expires at the end of the season, meaning the 33-year-old is destined for a move out of the Amex Stadium this summer.

Sam Baldock

Another player failing to find proper game time at Brighton this season, Sam Baldock’s deterioration is clearly imminent considering the fact that he has made only three appearances in the league so far this season.

The former West Ham striker signed for the Seagulls in 2014 for a fee of €2.5m, from Bristol City. Following a slow start to his Brighton career, the English forward was one of the best players for the Seagulls last season, where he scored an impressive 11 goals in 31 matches, helping the club win promotion to the top flight.

That being said, a calf problem at the start of the season completely derailed his progress as he lost his place to the likes of Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed. And his future at Brighton and Hove Albion look even bleaker following the acquisitions of Jurgen Locadia and former star Leonardo Ulloa.

Both of these strikers are expected to play a vital role at Brighton for the coming years and even though Baldock has been one of their most impressive players last season, the club won’t hesitate to sell the 28-year-old should a presentable offer come along the way.
