Two Players Who Manchester United Must Sign Again

Manchester United have been the most successful club in England without a doubt, owing to their plethora of trophies gained over the years and the mighty successful tenure of Sir Alex Ferguson. However, since the Scottish mastermind took off his thinking cap, they haven’t quite produced the magic we are used to seeing every season from the Red Devils.

Since then, they have changed a couple of managers and expressed the unsettlement in the club through big money signings. They even changed systems but their over-reliance on some players has created trouble for them. Under Moyes, they finished outside the top three for the first time in PL history and clearly fell behind the UCL quality, as they finished 7th.

Despite signing significant world-class talents such as Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera, the English giants failed to live up to their expectations yet again. Under Moyes and Van Gaal, they managed to win just two trophies and the latter endured a win percentage of just 52.43%.

Jose Mourinho, since taking charge, has steadied the ship to some extent, by granting Champions League football, winning the Europa League and enjoying a better record against the big sides than his predecessors. However, the team’s glory has been overshadowed by Manchester City’s dominance and somewhere down the line, United have been far from challenging for the PL title. Having been crowned as the most valuable club in 2017, fans will expect more from their club for sure.

Javier Hernandez could be a welcome signing for Manchester United again

Wilfried Zaha

Zaha joined Manchester United in the 2013-14 season after having impressed at Crystal Palace the season before, scoring relentlessly, knocking down defences and playing some fearless football. He started the Community Shield clash against then FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic, bagging his first senior title. Unfortunately, he fell out of favour and was then loaned out to Cardiff City for the rest of the season.

Since then, he has established himself as one of the most dangerous wingers in the League, after shifting back to Crystal Palace. He is twinkle-toed, quick, explosive and loves teasing defenders. Zaha completes dribbles, take-ons and is an exceptional one-vs-one forward.

He weaves past defences for fun and is capable of the spectacular. Also, the Ivorian provides high-octane work rate and tirelessly runs around the pitch. At 25, Zaha’s abilities could well be a massive commodity for the Red Devils as Martial and Rashford are still youngsters and haven’t been performing on a consistent basis this season.

Javier Hernández

Since scoring the last goal of the Ferguson era, Chicharito fell out of United ranks and hence, departed for Real Madrid and then proved his class at Bayer Leverkusen.

He netted 39 goals in just 76 appearances for them, which caught the eye of West Ham United, who signed him in order to bolster their chances for the Europa League in the 2017-18 season. He has scored 7 goals this season and has often not received the best of service as the Irons have endured a relegation-threatened season.

The 99-time capped Mexican needs a bigger club to express his potential, which is clearly above many strikers in Europe. If Manchester United could re-sign their former beloved forward, he would finish off half chances, work harder than anyone else, use his technical skills, provide much-needed competition to Romelu Lukaku and save his pernicious looking career.
