2 Players Who Jose Mourinho Could Sell In The Summer Transfer Window

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United were one of the busiest clubs in the country in the transfer window at the start of the season as the manager broke transfer records in a productive summer transfer window. The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba have all been integral to the impressive run of form for the Red Devils this season and the manager is already ready to spend big yet again this summer. The Red Devils have a decent chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season and Mourinho will want to get rid of all the deadwood at the end of the season, to make way for quality additions. This might see a few players leave the club this summer and here are two such players who might leave the club at the end of the season:

Wayne Rooney:

The skipper of the side, Rooney is still one of the most gifted attackers in the Premier League but his attributes have not impressed Jose Mourinho who has kept him out of the first team for most of the league games this season. Rooney has been confined to playing cup games this season and has been linked with a move to a couple of Chinese Super League clubs who are ready to make him the world’s highest paid player. His former side Everton have recently emerged as favorites to land him this summer. Rooney, who is the top goalscorer in the history of the club will want to continue his legacy but with the manager planning further additions in the summer, he might find even little game time next season. So it is best for both parties involved to go their separate ways at the end of the season.

Matteo Darmian:

Another player who has been on the fringes of the first team this season is Italian full-back Matteo Darmian. A Louis Van Gaal purchase, Darmian was rated highly in Serie A but he has seen him struggle in the Premier League. Though he been used by Mourinho at times, he is far from a regular. There is little chance of him staying at the club beyond this season. Juventus were linked with a move for him in the past and surely, there will not be any shortage of clubs in his homeland that would love to add him to their squad. The likes of Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, and Daley Blind will give him a tough challenge and with Mourinho planning further additions, Darmian might switch allegiances this summer.
