Two Deals That Manchester United Need To Complete Before The Deadline Day This Summer

Manchester United are one of the strongest clubs in the Premier League at the moment as Jose Mourinho has spent on some valuable first team stars this summer. The Portuguese manager is still looking to get deals done for a couple of players, who can make the club invincible, and this has seen him get linked with some of the finest stars in Europe.

However, the Red Devils do not have too long in the transfer market to complete the deals for top transfer targets but Mourinho is not giving up anytime soon. With less than two weeks left of the summer window, here are two deals the Red Devils need to complete before the end of the transfer season.

Out

Chris Smalling

The experienced English defender is not in the plans of the manager at the moment, who is happy using Phil Jones as the first-choice centre back alongside Eric Bailly this season. Jose Mourinho also spent on Victor Lindelof, who is next in the pecking order and though they need some depth, Smalling just does not belong there anymore.

He is not expected to be close to the first team in the league or in Europe. Though he might deputise in cup games, United are better off using Lindelof in those games to give him some exposure, making Smalling an outcast at the club. He has a number of suitors and if any of them meet his valuation, the manager and the club should not think twice before letting him leave the club before the deadline day.

In

Thomas Lemar (AS Monaco)

The French youngster is one of the most-wanted players in Europe and though he is settled at the Stade Louis II at the moment, he has been extensively linked with a move to England recently. Arsenal are also interested in his services but reports claim that United have made a £55m bid to try and land him this summer.

Though the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are decent options on the left wing, Lemar is a more natural winger, who can add another dimension to the attack, and having him in the squad will keep United well equipped for all the competitions this season. At just 21, he’d fit in well with the likes of Rashford, Martial, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, and can help United establish their dominance in England.
