2 Key players Huddersfield could sign in January to survive Premier League relegation including 6ft 4in giant

Two players Huddersfield Town must sign in January

Huddersfield Town are still searching for their first win of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign after going down 3-1 at Leicester City last weekend.

The Terriers have struggled to score goals and at the opposite end, David Wagner has been let down by his defence. It is proving to be very difficult for the Terriers to get points on board and Wagner has to find a cutting edge if his team are to move away from the relegation zone in the Premier League.

For now, Wagner has to find a way to arrest his team’s defensive woes and get the forwards firing on all cylinders. Once the transfer window reopens, he could address his team’s problems to boost the survival hopes this season.

Here are two players Huddersfield must sign in January.

Milan Pavkov (Red Star Belgrade)

Milan Pavkov’s recent goalscoring exploits with Red Star Belgrade should tempt Wagner to make a move for the strong centre-forward.

Pavkov, on loan at Radnicki Nis last season, scored 23 goals in 33 league games. He is now back at Red Star and has started the season very well.

An old-fashioned target-man, Pavkov, at 6ft 4in tall, is a strong, powerful and an energetic player who is aerially dominant and is a nightmare for the defenders. Despite possessing a burly frame, he has a good turn of pace as well and is lethal in the box.

Huddersfield are in dire need of a prolific goalscorer and Pavkov would fit Wagner’s style of play at the John Smith Stadium perfectly.

Christopher Jullien (Toulouse)

Although the pairing of Christopher Schindler and Mathias Jorgensen proved to be an effective one in the Premier League last season, the poor start to the new season suggests that further investment in the defence is needed.

David Wagner should look to poach Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien, who has been earning rave reviews across Europe for his no-nonsense defending style.

Jullien is renowned for his strength in the air and is a major threat from set-pieces, scoring some important goals for Toulouse in the last couple of seasons. The 25-year-old would be a solid addition for a Huddersfield side that is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements.
