2 Celtic Stars Who Are Certain To Leave The Club In The Summer

These Two Players Would Certainly Leave Celtic At The End Of The Season

Celtic are just one win away from sealing the Scottish Premiership title this season. Under Brendan Rodgers, the Bhoys have gone on a rampant streak and find themselves unbeaten in the domestic competition this term.

The Hoops find themselves on 83 points from 29 games this season, with 27 wins and just two draws. They are currently a whopping 25 points ahead of the second-placed Aberdeen and a win against Hearts post the international break should confirm what we’ve all known for quite some time now.

However, the work doesn’t stop there for Rodgers and Celtic. Given their current domination, it is expected that they will continue to rule the roost in Scotland. But they will also be expected to make some serious progress in Europe as well.

Reinforcing and strengthening the squad in the summer will be vital for Celtic to make strides on the continental stage. If they are to bring in players in the summer, it is only natural for some members in the current squad leave the club. Here, we pick out 2 players who might head out of Celtic in the summer.

Nadir Ciftci

The 25-year old striker has not been a part of the plans at Celtic all season and has appeared on the pitch only 4 times, totaling up to just 43 minutes, in which he hasn’t scored any goals.

As a result, he was shipped out on loan to Polish side Pogon Szczecin earlier this year in February, where he is yet to open his goal-scoring account. He arrived with so much promise having scored 25 times in 68 appearances for his former club Dundee United, things have spiraled down for Ciftci at Celtic and there seems to be no future for him under Rodgers.

The Turkish youth international will return at the end of the season, but with Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Ryan Christie ahead of him in the pecking order, exit seems to be the only direction in which his Celtic future is heading towards.

Efe Ambrose

This one has been touted for quite some time now, with Celtic trying to sell Ambrose on quite a few occasions in the past. However, the player stayed put each time. But with his contract set to expire in the summer, he would definitely be leaving.

Ambrose had made only 2 appearances for Celtic this season, that came in the UEFA Champions League qualification stages and was supposed to be heading out to England on loan, with Blackburn Rovers intent on getting him. However, a work permit breakdown meant that he instead moved to Scottish Championship side Hibernian FC earlier this month.

The 28-year old centre-back looks set to leave the Bhoys after five years at the club and not many will be disappointed to see him leave.
