According to the latest reports, Real Madrid are ready to sell their out of form striker Karim Benzema in the January transfer window. These reports also suggest that Arsenal are now the favorites to land the French finisher.
Arsenal were linked with Karim Benzema in the summer but the Frenchman indicated that he have no intention of leaving Real Madrid at that point of time. Arsenal ended up signing Mezut Ozil instead from Real Madrid. With Morato playing so well in the recent games, Benzema’s game time at Madrid will be significantly reduced from now on. With things going from bad to worse (with fans booing him), there is a good chance that he may change his decision and leave the Spanish capital soon.
Another good thing for the gunners is, they could get their long term target for much cheaper price of £17m which is considerably lesser than the price at which he was rated few months ago (around £30m).
But, Arsenal are not alone in the race to sign the top striker from France. Manchester United and Chelsea are the other premier league clubs who are very much interested in getting Benzema’s signature.
Benzema joined Real Madrid in 2009 for £25m from Lyon and now there is a high possibility that he may end his three year relationship with his current club and move to one of the top premier league clubs in January.
