According to a report from The Daily Mail, newly-promoted Sheffield United are keen on signing Blackburn Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack, but they’ll face competition from Aston Villa and West Brom.
Dack, 25, has enjoyed two impressive years with Blackburn and was a crucial reason behind the club’s 15th placed finish in the Championship table. He scored 15 goals and supplied 7 assists in 42 games this past season, catching the attention of the aforementioned clubs in the process.
The midfielder’s current contract runs until 2021 and Rovers were considering handing him a new one as a reward for his displays last season. But no offer has been forthcoming, alerting his suitors and forcing Dack to consider his future.
With that in mind, Sheffield United should beat the likes of Aston Villa and West Brom to Dack’s signing ahead of the new campaign. The Blades have shown ambition in the ongoing transfer window after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship.
They recently broke their transfer record for the third time this summer with the acquisition of Lys Mousset from Bournemouth. The likes of Phil Jagielka, Callum Robinson, Luke Freeman and Ravel Morrison have also joined Chris Wilder’s side.
Nevertheless, Wilder must further bring a couple of attackers to beef up his squad. The Premier League is a lot different as well as difficult than Championship football, meaning Sheffield United will need to be ready before they kickstart their campaign next month.
Luke Freeman would give a lot of verve and quality in the final third, competing with Mark Duffy for the no.10 position. But there’s very little depth in that position and Wilder would do a brilliant job if he manages to land Bradley Dack.

Dack has great qualities on the ball and is the type of player to lift you off your seat with an awe-inspiring piece of skill. He has fantastic ability to carry and keep the ball in tight areas, as well as find the back of the net regularly.
The 25-year-old has the tendency of losing possession but he is the kind of player who works really hard and tries to create something out of nothing. He would undoubtedly be an exciting signing for the Blades.
Chris Wilder has always signed players who he feels would fit into the dynamics of his squad and Dack would just be that. The playmaker could turn out to be an inspired piece of business for Sheffield United, helping them thrive in the top-flight.
