Manchester United opinion: Why Man United should sign Hirving Lozano
Manchester United’s incredible run of form under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer came to an end at the hands of Arsenal last weekend. The Red Devils were without the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard, with the former being in abysmal form since his much-hyped move from the Gunners over a year ago.
The Chilean has scored just 5 goals in all competitions since moving to Old Trafford in January last year. His humungous wages seem wasteful and hence, United should offload the former Barcelona forward in the summer and sign PSV’s Hirving Lozano instead.
According to CalcioNapoli24, Manchester United would be joined by Serie A giants Napoli in the race to sign Hirving Lozano in the summer.
The young Mexican is set to cost somewhere in the region of €50-60 million and Manchester United could be leading the race, especially since Lozano’s agent Mino Riola has good relations with the club.
Lozano would be an ideal replacement for Sanchez, who has scored just 1 goal in the Premier League all season. Lozano, on the other hand, has been terrific for this Dutch club, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists in the Eredivisie so far.
Lozano’s reputation in Europe has been on the rise over the last few years but the Mexican’s performance against defending champions Germany at the World Cup made the entire footballing world take notice of him.
A typical winger, Lozano uses his pace and trickery to get away from his defenders and is also incredibly efficient in front of the goal. The 23-year-old usually plays on the left-wing but is more than capable of playing on the right or just behind the striker.
Lozano is ambidextrous and uses this ability to brilliant effect. He is capable of either cutting inside of the right wing or taking the defender on to the by-line before whipping in a deadly cross. The Mexican is also an efficient creator and has the eye to pick out the runs of his teammates to set them free on goal.
However, Lozano needs to be more willing to help out in the defence. The youngster shows incredible work rate in the final third but often forgets to track back to help his full-back. That would be disastrous in the Premier League, where full-backs are highly attacking in most teams.
Lozano has averaged 3 shots at goal, 2.2 key passes and 1.9 dribbles per game in the Eredivisie so far this season. The winger has also averaged 2.4 crosses per game and would be a brilliant addition, especially with Lukaku in the middle. (WhoScored)

Manchester United shouldn’t think twice about making a move for Hirving Lozano in the summer since he would be a massive upgrade over a completely out of form Alexis Sanchez.
The Mexican, who is still only 23, would be a tremendous investment for the future and could be a part of the United squad for the best part of the next decade.
