14 Goals, 7 Assists: Chelsea Would Be Mad To Let Go This Teen Sensation

We all know how brilliant the Belgian has been this season. We don’t even need stats to prove the case for the Chelsea man. Eden Hazard has been voted the PFA Best Young Player of the Season and has led the way in terms of goals, assists and chances created this season, without whom, Chelsea would have probably had very less attacking inspiration.

Recently there have been rumours about a cold war between the Chelsea star and his manager Jose Mourinho, especially after the Belgian’s comments after the 1-3 loss to Atletico Madrid in the UCL Semi-Final. The media had twisted Hazard’s words, but it seemed pretty clear that the youngster was feeling a bit guilty for his rare lack of work rate on the pitch, obviously because of his rustiness after his injury. When Jose Mourinho was asked about Hazard’s performance, the manager spoke as a matter of fact, that Hazard needs to improve, as he needs to put in unconditional effort on the pitch every time he plays.

Well, nothing has been said beyond this, yet there have been scary rumours circulating around the football world. The Belgian is a hot property in the transfer market and can easily fetch around 50-60 million pounds based on current performances and potential. Manager Mourinho has always held him in high regards also deeming him as the best young player in the world. Hazard may have failed once, which proved costly because it was a UCL Semi-final, but to be fair to him, he has been putting good defensive performances as well.

  1. He’s the perfect creative winger.

Hazard never used to have any defensive duties before Jose Mourinho entered Chelsea and turned him into the perfect creative winger who would keep track of his full back when not in possession. Apart from scoring 14 goals in the league, he has further created 88 chances out of which 7 has been scored by his team mates.

Even if there is a case of defensive error by Hazard, it is pretty much understood that Jose knows it’s because of his first season under a strict coach and of course, he’s a winger and not a fullback.
