Huddersfield opinion: Terriers want Fraizer Campbell – good move?

English news outlet the Hull Daily Live has reported that Huddersfield Town are interested in making a move for striker Fraizer Campbell. The 31-year-old has played all across England; including Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Cardiff City.

Huddersfield Town need a goalscorer, as highlighted this season. Steve Mounie, Laurent Depoitre, and Aaron Mooy have struggled to find the net this season, as often as they did last season.

Steve Mounie, Adama Diakhaby, and Laurent Depoitre have managed to net just two goals between them, with Mounie having scored them both. January signing Karlan Grant has played just nine games so far and has already netted three goals.

This highlights Huddersfield’s struggles and suggests why a move for Fraizer Campbell would do them good. This season, the 31-year-old has netted 12 goals in 36 appearances for Hull City, while also providing six assists.

Campbell has proven to be a consistent presence in front of goal, contributing to 136 goals in 350 career appearances so far. He also has great experience in the Championship, having made nearly 120 appearances.

He has 150 appearances to his name in the Premier League, although he did struggle to score consistently at the top-level. It’s why he was let go by Crystal Palace and joined Hull in the Championship.

This move makes a lot of sense for Huddersfield, as they need someone experienced to lead the line, alongside the young Karlan Grant.

The 22-year-old former Charlton Athletic striker has a bright future. Playing alongside someone as experienced as Fraizer Campbell will certainly help his progress.
