£100m Transfer Kitty? – Four Players Arsenal Should Target With It

published :

The transfer window has yet to start and we have already seen what could potentially be the biggest deal of this summer. David Luiz ‘s blockbuster move to PSG. As we move away from the riches of Paris Saint Germain, we close in on the meaner budgets of clubs like Arsenal. Well, should the tabloids possess some amount of truth, Arsenal board is set to back Wenger with a £100million budget to spend this summer.

Whether or not it would suffice is an entirely different question, but for the time-being, let’s stick to the budget and look at the possible options that Wenger could buy and potentially make Arsenal genuine title contenders.

Mario Mandzukic

What goes around comes around. A simple rule in life. Perhaps, there is no greater example of this other than the present striker situation in Bayern Munich. To be a striker at Bayern Munich is a tough job indeed. You play your heart out for them for two years and then they find another guy. Will you be the second in line? No, they always have Thomas Muller for that.

Two years ago, Mario Mandzukic displaced Mario Gomez from the Munich side and two months later, the same is going to happen to him. Bayern have signed Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer and that implies that Mandzukic’s playing time will reduce drastically.

In such a situation, Mandzukic has clearly being game to new doors in his life as different clubs come calling. Wenger could make the best of this situation and snap Mandzukic.

With Giroud being highly inconsistent and Podolski preferring the doctor’s table, Mandzukic could give Arsenal a real boost up front. With an excellent midfield behind him and his instinctive abilities, goals won’t be hard to come by and we may get to see strikers score important goals at the Emirates and posses an attaching threat after a long time.
